The Malta Men’s team has won the Rugby Europe Sevens Conference 2 tournament after beating Montenegro in a convincing manner.
Yesterday Malta topped group B with wins against Montenegro, Estonia and Belarus ending the day with a score difference of +85.
In the semifinal Malta's players countered Iceland's massive players by playing wisely using quick change of direction to find crucial gaps that enabled them to win 19-0 to reach the final.
In the final, against Montenegro, the Maltese showed great prowess and confidence to secure the title and make history by winning such a competition for the first time.

Meanwhile, the Women’s Sevens team is competing in Rugby Europe’s Conference 1 tournament held in Sarajevo.
16 nations took part with Malta winning Pool C with wins against Austria, Andorra and Croatia.
The Maltese went on to shove off Luxembourg who finished second in Pool A to make it to the Cup Semifinal and securing a forth place. The Maltese ladies made it very clear that they had no intentions to give in and in a tight contest against Slovakia, a decisive try by Beverie Sultana in the dying seconds secured a place in the final against Latvia.
