Bank of Valletta employees reported to work in jeans, an initiative to raise funds for Dar Kenn għal Saħħtek and its residents. Customers who visited BOV branches were also encouraged to make a small contribution.

“Dress downs have started featuring regularly our our calendar,” said the bank’s PR and marketing head Charles Azzopardi. “While allowing our people a little more personal expression, these occasions help bring us together for a common cause.”

Dar Kenn għal Saħħtek is the national centre for eating disorders. It is both a residential and semi-residential facility that provides a holistic treatment for patients with eating disorders and weight behavioural problems like anorexia and bulimia. Residents stay at the home for an indefinite period of time, depending on each case.

“The programme we offer is one of intense rehabilitation, through which our team seeks to interrupt the growth and maintenance factors of the resident’s disorder,” the home’s director, Darleen Zerafa, said.
