I would like to draw the attention of the Door Numbering Unit of the Electoral Commission to the fact that buildings in Triq l-Imgħażel, Swieqi, have not yet been assigned numbers. Other streets in Swieqi were assigned door numbers, even though they were developed much later than Triq l-Imgħażel.
There are no longer any unbuilt plots of land in the street; in fact, in many cases, the houses built 40 or so years ago have been demolished and rebuilt as apartments. The absence of street numbers causes problems for the residents, as it makes it difficult for doctors, nurses and delivery vans to locate our houses, especially after sunset.
To make matters worse, the street is a disjointed crescent, a fact most people who do not live there are unaware of, and the awkward shape aggravates the difficulty of locating a door.
I hope that, now that the authorities have been advised, the matter will be seen to expeditiously.
