Mothers in Buenos Aires come out in defence of the right to breast-feed in public after a woman was threatened with arrest for breast-feeding in public.

22-year-old Costanza Santos was threatened with arrest for breast-feeding her eight-month-old baby in a public plaza in San Isidro, just north of Buenos Aires.

Santos posted about the incident on social media. She said she's tired of having her rights trampled on.

"The truth is that the rights of women and children are being trampled on, because you are breast feeding, and that's not just about feeding your baby, but love too. If someone is bothered by that, they should go into a bathroom to eat and see how it feels."

The San Isidro government responded to the outcry saying the officers were "mistaken" in their decision to threaten a breast-feeding mother with arrest.
