Twenty-eight cyclists together with three backup volunteers left for Zagreb, Croatia to take part in the 1,100km cycling challenge spread over seven days.

Climbing approximately 14,000m in ascent, the Alive cycling team started their adventure from Zagreb on July 8, after which they would cycle to the Vatican in Rome, passing through eight cities, including Ljulbjana (Slovenia), Mofalcone (Italy) and Montefiascone (Italy).

For the fourth year, Alive cyclists are raising funds for a specialised research programme in children’s cancer at the University of Malta, to be facilitated through the University’s Research Trust.

The Remax – Alive 2016 Cycling Challenge for Cancer is being sponsored by the Remax and Friends Foundation, powered by Garmin, Wurth, TumInvest, Pro Action and supported by Impressions Ltd, SIS, Wheel Wizard, Danusan, Airmalta, Express Trailer, KPMG, Falzon Group, UVIA, Dolmen Hotel, Greens Supermarket and the Malta Police Force.
