The article ‘Saved by a fistful of dollars’ (July 16) about the Maltese priest living in Nice was really in bad taste.

I am sure the picture of Fr Paul Sammut, smiling on the saddest day in the history of Nice, didn’t go down well with readers.

Besides, one would have expected him to say: “I wish I was killed instead of one of those 10 children that were mowed down that fateful night.”

Instead, he said: “I thank God, it was not me.”
