Reference is made to the article ‘PA revokes permit after making mistake’ (July 15).

The article insinuates that the revocation of the planning permit held by applicant John Bonello, for the development of a kiosk in Paceville, may ‘benefit’ Joseph Tanti and Mark Gaffarena, both of whom had lost out to a call for tender for the development of the kiosk.

The Planning Authority would like to clarify that, last month, the planning board had unanimously refused planning permission to both Tanti and Gaffarena, each of whom had applied to develop a kiosk on the same site as that of Bonello.

For all three planning applications, the Planning Directorate had recommended that the board refuses planning permission. Additionally, contrary to what was reported, planning board member Joseph Sammut voted against the revocation of the permit.
