Pet House in Fgura is organising a fund-raising grooming event on Saturday, proceeds of which will all go in aid of The Island Sanctuary Association.
The association is a non-profit making organisation run fully by volunteers and depends on the generosity of its supporters and the public for the upkeep of its dog sanctuary in Delimara. It has a no-kill policy and offers a permanent home to dogs that remain unhomed.
The daily running expenses run into the thousands and include such items as food, medicine, vaccines, flea drops, veterinary expenses, maintenance of the premises, rent, water and electricity and telephone bills. Some of the dogs are found in a terrible state, needing long-term medical attention and surgery, involving additional expenses.
To help raise funds for the sanctuary book your appointment by calling 7932 2949. The event will run from 8.30am to 7pm. Further details are available on the Sanctuary’s Facebook page or that of Pet House Malta.
