William Wait is to be appointed non-executive chairman of Malta Enterprise after serving as deputy chairman since 2013, the government announced today. He succeeds Mario Vella, who is to become governor of the Central Bank.

Mr Wait served as a director and deputy CEO of Toly Group, an international cosmetics manufacturing group.

In 2008, he was elected to the council of the Federation of Industry and subsequently to the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry.

He was also a member of the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development.

He is currently executive chairman of Projects Malta Limited and chairman of the Water Services Corporation. He will relinquish his WSC post, were he will be succeeded by Mario Zammit, currently managing director of Uniplast Limited.
