Agazzi: Milan goalkeeper Michael Agazzi has joined Serie B side Cesena. The 32-year-old stopper, who spent last season on loan at M’boro, reached an agreement with Cesena and trained with his new team-mates yesterday. Agazzi joined the Rossoneri in 2014 after spells with Chievo and Cagliari but failed to make an appearance for Milan during his time at San Siro.

Negredo: Middlesbrough hope to tie up a deal for Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo after jetting out to Spain for a pre-season training camp. The Teessiders have been in talks over the 30-year-old former Manchester City frontman for some time as they look to secure an initial loan deal. Reports said yesterday those discussions will continue in Marbella, where Boro will play three games starting with tonight’s friendly against Real Betis.

Eberl: Borussia Moenchengladbach director of sport Max Eberl has rejected reports he is set to assume the same position with Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich. Bayern have been without a director of sport since Matthias Sammer stepped down earlier this summer. “There is no such thing as a conditional tense in football,” Eberl, 42, said. “I’m just focusing on the here and now. That is Moenchengladbach.” Eberl has a contract with the Foals until 2020.

Birighitti: Swansea have signed Australia international Mark Birighitti on a two-year deal. The 25-year-old, who has one international cap for the Socceroos, has joined on a free transfer from A-League Newcastle Jets. He will provide competition for Lukasz Fabianski, Kristoffer Nordfeldt and Gerhard Tremmel in the race to be Francesco Gui-dolin’s number one. Birighitti began his career at Adelaide and has spent time on loan at Varese.

Krsticic: Sampdoria have allowed midfielder Nenad Krsticic to leave. The 26-year-old Serbian managed to make 101 appearances, scoring three goals, over six seasons with Samp but a succession of injuries meant he spent most of the last two years on the sidelines. Yesterday, the Genoa club said they had rescinded Krsticic’s contract “by mutual consent”, thanking the former Bologna loanee for his commitment and wishing him luck for the future.
