The University of Malta is offering a Master of Arts in Film Studies in October on a part-time basis spread over six semesters.

The course will enhance students’ ability to critically analyse film and its relationship to the other arts.

They will also gain hands-on professional skills of filmmaking, ranging from scriptwriting to actual production on screen.

The lecturing staff will also include accomplished international filmmakers.

Applicants should be graduates holding a first degree from a recognised university who have a strong interest in the theory and practice of film.

Applicants who do not have a degree but have extensive experience in a related area will also be considered.

The course is supported by the Ministry for Tourism and the Malta Film Commission.

The first deadline for applications is July 21.
