These are the main stories featured in today's Maltese newspapers:

Times of Malta reports that Malta is set to become the first EU country to ban the use of the controversial weedkiller glyphosate, which was reauthorised by the European Commission this month despite Malta’s opposition. It also reports that operations at the law courts may grind to a halt on Monday unless there is a breakthrough in negotiations on a new collective agreement for deputy registrars.

L-orizzont carries the story of the first gay couple to adopt a child in Malta. It also quotes the Malta Union of Teachers saying there was no improvement in results despite the elimination of Junior Lyceum examinations.

The Malta Independent also reports the case of the gay adoption. It also says that a public outcry had led to a rethink of a controversial pigeon cull in Balzan.

In-Nazzjon quotes party leader Simon Busuttil saying that his party's vision was to see better pay for jobs in the logistics and distribution sectors, following a visit to Malta Freeport.
