D.O.K. – Moveo Dance Company
Today
Time: 9pm
Venue: Fort St Elmo, Valletta
Entrance: €15

D.O.K. is a Maltese work with different artists working as equal partners – a harmonious experience where the expressions of dance, voice and music come together, leading to a commitment to teamwork, exploration and interdisciplinary practice.

The work conceived by Moveo Dance Company’s artistic director and choreographer Dorian Mallia, with the collaboration of soprano Miriam Cauchi, cellist Simon Abdilla Joslin and composer Albert Garzia, is inspired by the music of Maltese composer Charles Camilleri.

Moveo Dance Company, founded in 2005, focuses its work on the study of the body in motion within a whole spectrum of possibilities including identity, as well as cultural and social behaviour.

Arvo Pärt – guest and featured composer
Tomorrow
Time: 7.30pm
Venue: St John’s Co-Cathedral, Valletta
Entrance: €15, €20

Composer Arvo Pärt (1935) has significantly changed the way we understand the nature of music.

He is known for his tintinnabuli style, a compositional technique which he created. Although his earlier, modernist works are perhaps less known to wider audiences, his entire oeuvre has shifted ourperception of music.

Regardless of nationality, cultural background or age, many people have been touched and influenced by the timeless beauty and deep spiritual message of Pärt’s music.

His works are performed in concert halls, as well as film, dance and theatre performances, and other multimedia texts.

Pärt will be performing key works at the co-cathedral.
