A young Pakistani couple’s honeymoon didn’t go according to their plans, when the newly-wed husband was not allowed to join their romantic getaway.

Huma Mobin and Arsalaan Sever, who were married earlier this year, were planning to travel to Greece for their honeymoon, but the Greek border agency had different plans. Arsalaan was not permitted a visa, but  the couple had already paid for their holiday. Huma went without him, accompanied by her new in-laws.

She was upset over the missed honeymoon, but still decided to make the most of the trip. Huma decided to have her pictures taken in every location with a sad pout and her arm out to indicate her missing husband.

The new wife’s humoristic approach to the unpleasant situation has delighted people all over the internet.

The idea for the pouty photos came when the couple had just got engaged. Arsalaan was sent to Budapest for work, leaving his fiancée behind. He sent back solo photos with a sad face to show Huma how much he missed her.

“Whenever one of us travels alone without the other, we do this. We can just show that we're missing [each other]," Huma told BBC.

"He's the life of the party, my better half - I wouldn't have gone without him but he forced me to," she said.

Huma said she didn’t care what other people thought of her silly pictures.

"People were literally breaking their necks with the selfie sticks over there, so I came off really quite normal doing this."

After the unconventional honeymoon, the newly-wed couple reunited in their native Pakistan, hoping they can spend their first year anniversary together.
