The Foundation for Promotion of Social Inclusion in Malta is participating in the ‘On the move’ project funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Sport call.
The project targets children aged four to seven with a low level of physical activity. The project consortium is preparing a programme that will combine physical activity, nutrition lectures and cooking workshops. In Croatia it will last for 14 months, in Malta for three months and in Slovenia, Slovakia, Portugal and UK, it’s on for nine months.
The intention of the designed programme is to introduce children to basic sports like athletics, gymnastics and swimming to boost their physical, cognitive and academic development and to create healthy habits from a young age. It will consist of regular sports meetings during the week for preschool children (aged four to seven) and weekend indoor and outdoor activities with workshops on healthy nutrition and other relevant topics.
The sport courses will start in October in Malta. For more information, e-mail diana@fopsim.eu or visit www.fopsim.eu.
