PwC in Malta have announced the appointment of Bonavent Gauci, Steve Gingell and Steve Mamo as partners with effect from July 1. Meanwhile, Nicolette Hills has been appointed as director.

Mr Gauci joined the firm in 2000 after reading for a Bachelor of Accountancy at the University of Malta. After four years in the assurance service line, he moved to the advisory practice in 2005. He specialises in corporate finance, strategic business advisory, valuations, feasibility studies, mergers and business recovery. His client portfolio covers a wide range of industries including financial services, online gaming, property development, telecommunications and energy.

Mr Gingell joined the firm in 2003 after reading for a Bachelor of Accountancy at the University of Malta, starting in the tax service line. In 2005, he completed a Master in Law with a specialisation in tax at the University of London. Following this, he worked in the tax practice at PwC London for a two-year period. He advises a wide variety of local corporate and international clients operating in various industries including banking, aviation, gaming, tourism and trading operations. He also lectures in VAT and European tax law at the University of Malta.

Mr Mamo joined the firm’s assurance service line in 2004, after reading for a Bachelor of Accountancy at the University of Malta. He further developed his audit experience through secondments to PwC Canada and PwC Channel Islands. He now services a portfolio of high-profile and listed clients in a number of industries in the services sector, including manufacturing, retail, shipping, automotive, hospitality, health, telecommunications and financial services.

Ms Hills joined the firm in 1993 as part of the assurance line of service, as an ACCA student. During her time with the firm she has been involved in both local and foreign audits and has been on a number of overseas secondments. While she continues to be involved in audit, her focus is now the oversight of the firm’s quality and risk management and independence function.
