Two containers carrying counterfeit shampoo and hair care equipment have been seized by customs officials at the Freeport.

Customs said the containers contained 18,720 bottles of shampoo and 8,912 items of hair care devices in breach of intellectual property rights – cross border measures laws.

The cargo was in Malta on transit.

The seizure is the second of its kind since last month when the department found two containers carrying 14 tonnes of counterfeit cigarettes and 24 tonnes of counterfeit washing powder.
