In the British Brexit referendum, 72 per cent of the electorate voted, resulting in a four per cent majority. Now four per cent of those who voted is equivalent to 2.88 per cent of the total electorate and you need half that number to swing an election and, so, 1.44 per cent decided for Brexit.

In our democracy, a voter does not have to be clever, intelligent or normally informed to exercise his right to vote. He can vote motivated by his sentiments, emotions and political prejudices.

The ‘Leave’ majority did not listen to the experts but were influenced by the pride of the flag, the monarchy,  the empire mentality, the antipathy to and jealousy of German leadership. So, the aging Britons, who had their share in messing up the western world, they rise again to get a grip and bring chaos, confusion and uncertainty, risking a worldwide depression.

All is not lost because the English have another chance to show their true desire in the coming party elections, hoping they would not add further to the confusion by electing a ’Remain’ prime minister.
