• Hospice Malta is holding its annual fundraising summer barbecue in collaboration with Lions Club Malta at the Great Dane & dynasty Restaurant at the Mellieha Holiday Centre on Friday at 8pm.

Price is against a donation of €30 per person. Guests will enjoy a varied buffet menu prepared by the hotel’s chefs. There will be live music and fantastic prizes to be won on the night.

• The Malta Guide Dogs Foundation is holding a fundraising barbecue on Saturday from 7 to 9 pm at the site in Ta’ Qali where it intends to build a new facility (same road as Ċentru San Franġisk animal hospital, opposite the farmers’ market).

• The next Malta Adlerian Psychology Association meeting will be held on Friday at 6.30pm at Le Meridien Hotel St Julian’s. It will be a follow-up of April’s talk on cyber bullying.

• The Maltese Diabetes Association will be organising a fundraising event – Dine4diabetes on July 16 at the Reef Club, Westin Dragonara Resort, St Julian’s.

The evening will start with a welcome drink and canapés and a buffet dinner, followed by coffee, liqueurs and petit fours. Flowing wine and water will be served throughout the dinner. The all-inclusive price is €30 per person.

Entertainment will be provided by pianist Vinny Vella Jr and his group.

• A prayer meeting for the sanctification of priests and for priestly and religious vocations will be held on Saturday at Mdina Cathedral. It will start off at 9pm with Mass, followed by adoration, which goes on until 11pm. This prayer meeting is held in different churches in Malta every month.

• The Feast of the Immaculate Conception in Ħamrun is being celebrated today. At the end of the procession – at about 10pm – those present will welcome, with candles and Marian chants and with the accompaniment of St Mary’s Band of Dingli, the artistic statue of the Immaculate Conception. The feast will come to an end with those present around the Holy Eucharist.

• The family and community section within Zejtun local council will be organising a 60s and country night at Buskett Roadhouse on July 15, leaving Sant’Ang at 7pm.
