Valletta houses a good number of museums for its size.

Taking into account the V18 festivities, this is a feather in the cap.

With the Valletta V18 foundation being responsible for the European Capital of Culture programme, it would be interesting to know what preparations are in store concerning Valletta’s museums by way of accessibility and promotion.

Will they be mapped out properly to enhance their popularity and easy location for the sake of visitors and the local population?

In this connection, is this the right time to tamper with the location of the Bank of Valletta museum?

The museum was originally housed at Tagliaferro Bank from 1812 and it would certainly not make sense to ignore such a connection.

The administration of St John’s Co-Cathedral was financed by the Tagliaferro Bank and its adjacent shops by way of rent paid for the lease of the premises.

At least, if the BOV museum is to vacate its present ideal location, one would expect the museum to remain at Valletta. The BOV and its museum owe their name to our capital city.

It would be a shame if this connection is ignored, especially on taking into account the V18 festivities. What is Heritage Malta doing about this? The people are owed an explanation.
