A 70-year-old Polish woman who lives in Pietà was grievously injured when she was hit by a car this afternoon.

The police said a 71-year-old man from Pietà was driving the vehicle when the incident happened in Triq Lord Byron, Santa Venera at 12.15pm.

Police are investigating.
