Maltese solo artist Renzo Spiteri is among 15 artists invited to perform at a UN concert intended to highlight the cultural diversity of the Mediterranean through music.

The 15 artists from 12 Mediterranean countries have been invited to perform, accompanied by the Royal Symphonic Orchestra of Morocco. Other artists in the line-up include Maria del Mar Bonet, Sílvia Pérez Cruz and Le Trio Joubran.

The concert on July 9 at the UN’s Palace of Nations in Geneva is aimed to be the first of many concerts, held in different historical Mediterranean sites, such as the Pyramids and the city of Jerash in Jordan.

The concert's aim is also to highlight the humanitarian crisis impacting the Mediterranean Sea.

Percussionist Spiteri is known for his on-site projects like scoring and recording of music for the visitors' audio guide at Ħal-Saflieni Hypogeum.

The event is organised by ONUART Foundation and produced by MEDIAPRO.
