Cyprian Cassar has quit the award-winning Maltese dance duo Tenishia, the DJ announced this afternoon.

In a post on Facebook, Cassar said: "As you might have noticed, Joven (Grech) and myself have gone separate ways. This didn't happen because we fell out but we both felt we had reached a point that we felt we could contribute more to the world of music individually."

Cassar added that he had also quit the duo to spread his artistic wings beyond electronic music.

Joven would continue playing under the name Tenishia, Cassar said.

"It was a difficult decision but it was the right one to take. Please continue giving both of us your support," he appealed to fans.

The news comes just months after UK Magazine DJ MAG reconfirmed the ranking of Tenishia in the World’s Top 100 DJs list for the fifth year in a row.
