One of the annual traditions of the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (Mcast) is the exhibition which attracts a wide number of people from industry apart from distinguished guests.

The aim of the exhibition, which will be housed at the institute itself, is to transform the institute for the creative arts into an artistic village where the best works of students can be displayed.

The logo chosen was created by the students to emphasise the rationale of the exhibition. Its title, Leave a Mark, and the image of the logo highlight the event by showing that it is a space where students, each at his or her level, can leave a mark, or, in other words, mark artistically his or her growth through art.

The institute has eight departments: fine arts; design; photography; media; game art; graphic design; performing arts and interactive media, covering a wide range of skills from beginners to degree students.

The opening ceremony will be held tomorrow at the institute in Tarġa Gap, Mosta, after which the exhibition will be open to the public till Tuesday, July 5 (weekend included) from 9am till 10pm. There will be 11 stands covering the spectrum of departments and each evening will be dedicated to a particular department. These activities will also include a wide range of interactive events such as networking sessions with industry, workshops, conferences, performances and public lectures by local and international experts.

The highlights will be the talks by Italian art critic and historian Vittorio Sgarbi and Luigi Prestinenza Puglisi, an architectural critic and professor of contemporary architectural history at the La Sapienza University in Rome.
