England goalkeeper Joe Hart had a nightmare performance yesterday, and Twitter didn't let him forget it.
Hart was widely panned after he couldn't stop a tame shot by Iceland's Kolbeinn Sigthorsson from trickling over the line, sending England down 1-2 and out of Euro 2016.
It was the second time Hart was blamed during the tournament, after he had conceded a long-distance Gareth Bale free-kick against Wales during the group stages.
Football fans were soon having a go.
The fact that Hart appeared in an ad for anti-dandruff shampoo at half-time just added fuel to the fire.
Some fans took a cue from the UK's post-Brexit economic woes.
While others opted for some infographics.
Even the Portuguese got in on it.
The goalkeeper took responsibility for the mistakes in post-match interviews, telling the BBC "I was to blame for two of the goals conceded at this tournament. I didn't perform."
And while the keeper has a reported £110,000-a-week contract to console himself with, you might want to spare a thought for London-based comedian Joe Hart. His only sin was to have nabbed the @joehart Twitter handle before the beleaguered goalkeeper did - and it might take him a while to pick up the pieces.
