Midfielder Shaun Bajada has rejoined Birkirkara after signing a one-year deal, the Premier League club said on their official website.

Bajada was player-coach of Gozitan club Għajnsielem last season, leading the club to the Division One title after they beat Xewkija Tigers in a decider, but he has opted to return to the Premier League.

The 32-year-old enjoyed a positive five-year spell with Birkirkara between 2007 and 2012 during which he also won the MFA Footballer of the Year award.

Bajada, whose three-year spell with Valletta came to an end last summer, will travel to Bosnia & Herzegovina tomorrow to join the Birkirkara squad ahead of the first leg of their Europa League first qualifying round match against NK Siroki Brijeg on Thursday.
