Tennis Club Kordin (TCK), in conjunction with the Malta Tennis Federation, will be hosting the U-16 European Tennis tournament, an event that forms part of Tennis Europe’s calendar for junior players.

Once again, a good number of players from all over the globe will be here, making the tournament a high-profile event.

The number of participants totals 134 – 83 boys and 51 girls. They hail from 30 countries including Argentina, US, Ukraine, Russia, Austria, UK, Italy and Germany.

Among the highest-ranked players in the tournament will be Milan Welte (Germany, no.81 in Europe) and Eleni Louka (Cyprus, no.52) and Anna Martemyanova (Ukraine, no.55) in the girls’ event.

Malta will be represented by Liam Delicata (ranking 1,436), Miguel Galea (1,766), Nicholas Degaetano and Benjamin Farrugia. The girls’ team will be composed of Stella Moazed (ranked 1,544), Emily Lightfoot, Rachel Grech Flores, Krysta Dimech and Emma Mallia.

The tournament, again sponsored by Simonds Farsons Cisk through San Michel water, starts on July 2.
