This chunky retro pick-up is actually based on Jeep’s baby, the Renegade. Military and civilian Jeep heritage is the inspiration, and it’s all covered in Beige Against the Machine paint. No, we’re not making this up. A five-foot load bay comes courtesy of a wheelbase stretched by six inches. The 16-inch painted wheels are wrapped in 32-inch BF Goodrich off-road tyres.

The only nod to modernity is the 2.0-litre diesel engine under the bonnet, which is linked to a nine-speed automatic gearbox. On the whole it’s pretty cool.

It’s very unlikely that Jeep puts this into production. It’s a neat idea which is more of a whimsical combination of past and present than a glance into the company’s crystal ball.
