The premises of the popular Half Way Inn Restaurant, situated on the right hand side, going down from Mellieħa centre to Għadira Bay, has been completely rebuilt.

It has undergone a major investment transforming the aging building into a modern block.

In fact, the restaurant has recently changed ownership and has been turned into a sought-after food and drink outlet finished to high standards in a stylish and contemporary ambiance, aptly named One80 Kitchen & Lounge.

This outlet offers diners ample space indoors stretching onto a large terrace overlooking a breathtaking view. A 180-degree view is the inspiration for the name of this restaurant and lounge which is perfectly positioned for a quick lunch for those on the way to one of the beaches within the vicinity or going over to Gozo.

The menu focuses on high quality, fresh local produce and is in the hands of a skilful team of chefs and service staff. The kitchen brigade is led by Mark Cauchi, who has a wealth of experience in executing the highest cuisine standards.

Cauchi has worked with some of the best chefs on the island and in the UK. His creations focus on freshness and high quality produce with fresh line-caught fish being delivered daily by nearby fishermen.

Daily chef specialities are available to complement the standard à la carte menu, along with a lighter lunch menu during the week and bar food in the lounge area.

The wine list offers a wide selection of wines which are worth the extra effort to seek out and purchase including cellar and fine wines.

These are wines that speak of their origins and all of them represent great value relative to price tag. There is a seasonal element to the wine list to better complement present cuisine. Through a temperature-controlled cellar, wines are kept in optimum condition all year round.

The wine list is presented according to the intensity on the palate as opposed to the traditional layout by countries or regions. Should guests wish to continue enjoying their bottle of wine at home, the servers will be happy to re-cork it to be taken home.
