Fifty educators from 35 schools attended the information meeting at St Theresa College Middle School, Ta’ Paris, Birkirkara, on the We Eat Responsibly project, organised by Ekoskola programme of Nature Trust Malta.

During the event, participants viewed materials and resources, students’ work and examples of projects from the 14 pilot schools that participated during the past scholastic year.

The project is an EU action-oriented global learning programme that aims to develop critical thinking, knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable young students to adopt new food behaviour patterns. Participating students tackle various themes include food wastage, overconsumption, processed food, the palm oil issue, diversity in food, reduction in meat consumption and local food and seasonality.

These themes were also presented in a fun and interactive manner for educators and students through the launch of a six- by three-metre canvas floor game which will provided to schools participating in the project.
