Were it not enough that cyclists in Malta have to use the road at their own peril, this video clip shows that they are also constantly taunted by impatient drivers.

Footage taken by Go-Pro camera attached to the cyclist's helmet and uploaded to YouTube shows a driver first hooting his horn as the cyclist rides through a narrow road, and once he gives way, the passenger sticks his finger out.

It is one of many obstacles cyclists in Malta have to face as they seek a healthier means of transportation through roads dominated by drivers who have no idea of cyclists' rights and where road rage is witnessed too often.

Increasingly, cyclists have been using a camera to record traffic breaches and uploading them to YouTube.
