Passengers hoping to fly to Italy were in for a nasty surprise this morning, after a strike forced airlines to cancel three flights and delay another one.
Ryanair flights to Rome, Bari and Bologna were all cancelled, while an Air Malta flight to Milan will now be leaving at 10.45pm rather than 12.55pm as originally scheduled to.
The flight cancellations, caused by a Ente Nazionale Assistenza al Volo (ENAV) strike in Italy, caused chaos at Malta International Airport, as passengers sought to make alternative travel arrangements.
