The Opposition has filed a Private Member’s Bill giving the Criminal Appeal Court the power to re-investigate cases referred to it where it would be proven that justice would have been badly administered.

The Bill was inspired by the case of Emanuel Camilleri, a man whose life was turned upside down after being falsely accused of sexual abuse.

The motion was filed by shadow minister Jason Azzopardi, and was presented to Speaker Anġlu Farrugia today.

Dr Azzopardi said the Bill would have an impact on people who would have suffered injustices.
