There was a time when Italy would consider a match against Belgium to be a relatively straightforward affair.

Not anymore.

The Azzurri are currently ranked 12th on the FIFA world rankings and enter Euro 2016 in the unusual situation of being considered underdogs. Belgium, on the other hand, are ranked second and have the most valuable squad of players at these championships.

Antonio Conte's men will rely on determination, tactical discipline and national pride to carry them through these 90 minutes. Belgium have plenty of flair and creativity, but the absence of captain Vincent Kompany through injury means their back line is less solid than they might have hoped.

Players to watch:

Eder (Italy): He hasn't had the brightest of starts to his Italy career, but the naturalised Brazilian striker is fast, technical and has an excellent nose for goal when on song. His size and speed could tie Belgium's powerful centre-back pairing of Vermaelen and Alderweireld in knots.

Romelu Lukaku (Belgium): At 23, it is time for this battering ram of a striker to come of age. He's fast, powerful and technical, and there could be no better stage to advertise his talents to big clubs than a big performance against Italy's defensive trio of Barzagli, Bonucci and Chiellini.
