I read with great interest and pleasure the two letters published in The Sunday Times of Malta by Fr Leonard Testa (April 9) and Victor Chircop-Sullivan (April 17), both of which praised the excellent work carried out by Roderick Bovingdon in promoting the Maltese language in Australia.
I have known Mr Bovingdon for a good number of years and he has always impressed me with his sterling service and scientific writings in which he never stops giving solid evidence of the profound beauty of our language. These writings, together with Mr Bovingdon’s long-standing activities to promote the Maltese language in Australia and in Malta, surely merit academic and national recognition from our University and from the State.
