There is “no comparison” in the personal attacks made in Daphne Caruana Galizia’s blog and that run by Glenn Bedingfield, the government’s head of communications has argued on Times Talk.

“There is absolutely no comparison between Daphne Caruana Galizia’s blog and Glenn Bedingfield’s blog.”

Mr Farrugia admitted that having Mr Bedingfield working as a communications advisor within the Prime Minister’s Office was “not the best situation.” 

He however insisted that Mr Bedingfield had a right to express himself, saying he was “a politician” who would be contesting the next general election as a Labour candidate.

“There were politicians working in the OPM as recently as the previous administration,” Mr Farrugia argued, “but that didn’t stop them from criticising the Opposition.”
