The International Ocean Institute (IOI) is offering a €9,500 scholarship to cover the tuition cost for a student enrolling on the MA in Ocean Governance in October. The degree is jointly offered by the University of Malta’s Faculty of Laws and the IOI.
The degree programme is unique in its approach. Its base is essentially legal but it also delves into natural and social sciences to determine how an effective regulatory framework regarding the use of oceans should operate.
The MA serves to further enhance the development of learning and research in marine resource management and maritime security from a multidisciplinary perspective.
Ocean governance is a topic of increasing significance and concern in the 21st century. There is a growing need to explore new trans-disciplinary approaches to address international concerns regarding maritime security and the sustainable use of oceans and their resources.
Applications are to reach the University’s Valletta campus by June 27.
