In hopes of finding a better life, people move – they always have and perhaps always will. However, it is a personal journey where one’s identity is revisited; with a part left behind and another subjected to another culture, the question of roots comes into play.

Who I am, who I was… who I will be? How fine a line is forgetting and moving on to a newer you? Home is where the heart is, yet in having a number of attachments to places, does that mean there can be more than one home, or none at all?

These questions and other perspectives on migration will be tackled in Studio 18’s Limbo – a devised walkthrough experience that welcomes the audience into the worlds and hearts of migrants from all over the globe who have chosen to share their story.

The performance consists of actors who relive the characters’ interviews, accompanied by a live pianist who improvises to the journey of each episode.

The creative team of Limbo is as follows: Jean-Marc Cafà (direction), James Azzopardi Meli (concept), Francesco Grech (music), Anna Calleja and Andrew Micallef (design).

Actors include, Kurt Castillo, Robyn Vella, Nikki Demajo Albanese, Andrew Micallef, and Delphine Ural.

The final performances of this piece, which lasts for 70 minutes, will be in English. It is being performed at Spaces C1-C4 (St James Cavalier) on Saturday at 5.45, 7.30 and 9.30pm and on Sunday at 5.45 and 7.30 pm.

Tickets are free.
