A Paceville massage parlour employee has been jailed after admitting to groping passers-by to induce them to use the parlour services.

Snizhana Oborina, 37, from Ukraine, who resides in Birkirkara was charged with committing the offences in Wilga Street on Sunday night.

Police inspector John Spiteri told the court that the police took action in the wake of two reports from passers-by who complained of being 'targeted' by the massage parlour employee.

Ms Oborina admitted to soliciting prostitution and offending public morals.

During submission on the punishment legal aid lawyer Benjamin Valenzia highlighted that his client had filed an early guilty plea and had collaborated with the police.

On the other hand the prosecution insisted on an effective jail term.

In its decision, the court presided by Magistrate Gabriella Vella, sentenced the Ukrainian woman to four months imprisonment.
