Updated 3.39pm - Naxxar crash victim not badly hurt

Four people were hospitalised this morning following a head-on crash in Mgarr and another incident in Naxxar, the police said.

The first incident happened around 5am in Triq Sir Temi Zammit when a Toyota Dyna, driven by a 29-year-old from Msida crashed into a Toyota Corsa, driven by a 28-year-old from Birkirkara. A 22-year-old from Paola was also riding in the Corsa.

Civil Protection personnel and an ambulance rushed to the scene and took the victims to hospital. All three sustained slight injuries. 

In another incident at 10.30am, a 56-year-old man was also hospitalised after his car collided with a coach in the Telgħa t’Alla u Ommu in Naxxar.

The victim's Ford Transit vehicle impacted the Leyland Plaxton driven by a 56-year-old man from Marsacala. Police have confirmed that he was only slightly injured.

The coach was carrying more than 30 passengers, none of whom sustained any injuries, the police said.
