All tallinja cards which do not have the holder’s name and photo printed on them will be replaced with a card which has their name and photo, Malta Public Transport said today.

Although the majority of tallinja card holders have changed their card to the personalised one featuring their name and photo, there is still a small number of customers who hold a card without a photo.

To facilitate the process, holders of a card without a photo are advised to submit a photo online by visiting the site www.publictransport.com.mt/en/temporary-card.

Once the photo is accepted, customers can exchange the cards without their photo with new personalised tallinja card at the Catholic Institue in Floriana between June 6 and June 24 from 7am to 7pm (excluding weekends but including the public holiday on 7th June). This service is being offered free of charge.

The collection of the new personalised tallinja cards will only be possible as per the below schedule:

  • ·  Surnames starting with A to L - June 6 to 10

  • ·  Surnames starting with M to T - June 13 to 17

  • ·  Surnames starting with U to Z - June 20 to 27

All customers must take along with them their ID card and their tallinja card without a photo. Customers who uploaded an acceptable photo online at least 48 hours prior to visiting the Catholic Institute will be able to join the fast track queue to exchange their tallinja card.

Those customers who do not have internet access to upload their photo will be assisted by the team present at the Catholic Institute, who will scan their ID Card or passport photo when they come to exchange their card.
