A core group assigned to look after the promotion of the veneration of Bro. Louis Camilleri, FSC, who died five years ago, announced today it was launching the process to research his life and work.

In a statement, the group said this was a long process which started with the documenting of the life and virtues of Bro. Louis, who served the Church and the Institute of the Brothers “so faithfully and zealously”.

The group is responsible for distributing information about Bro. Louis and spreading his devotion. It is also engaged in the gathering of any testimony about his life and work.

Those who knew Bro. Louis well and had personal experiences to recall were being requested to come forward as witnesses to his saintly life.

This phase was envisaged to take a very long time and its conclusion rested with the ultimate decision of the authorities about whether he had demonstrated heroic virtues.

The core group said it has already had meetings with Archbishop Charles Scicluna and the Postulator General of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, Brother Rodolfo Meoli, FSC.

Both were encouraging and offered their support for the cause.

To mark the beginning of this journey, a Mass is being organised on Saturday 28 May at 6.30pm at the Gzira Parish Church, officiated by Archbishop Emeritus Paul Cremona.
