Over 50 court employees have been ushered out of the court registry complaining of the nauseating smell of paint thinner.

Speaking to this newspaper, a legal procurator explained that the smell of resin hardener, which has persisted since yesterday, resulted in people suffering from nausea and severe headaches. One woman even broke out into a rash.

Works are currently underway at the court's side entrance.

"It's an absolute disgrace," one employee said.

"I've sent an email yesterday to the Occupational Health and Safety. There are no ventilators in the court registry - and opening the windows either results in a smell of sewage or of thinner.

"We are physically sick. A chaser was even used three weeks ago. Works are ongoing during are working hours. Despite complaints, the management have done nothing."

OHSA officials were present this morning but refused to comment.

The workers were sent home at the insistence of the Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin.
