Suzanne Vega, the American singer known for her unique style of folk-pop, will be performing during the Joseph Calleja concert in Malta during the summer, the organisers said today.

Best known for her songs Luka and Tom's Diner, Vega will be performing along the Maltese tenor during the concert on the Floriana granaries on July 28.

Albums like Days Of Open Hand and 99.9F° were multi-platinum sellers, all going to Number 1 on both sides of the Atlantic. Vega has released eight studio albums to date, the latest of which in 2014.

The other international singer confirmed so far is Italian icon Antonello Venditti.

For the fourth year running an agreement has been reached between the government and NnG Promotions to ensure the entire standing area will be free of charge and open to the public. There will be seated tickets as usual in front of the stage.

Once again the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra will accompany the artists under the baton of Mro Steven Mercurio together with the participation of the BOV Joseph Calleja Children’s Choir under the direction of Gillian Zammit.

Seated tickets will be available from May 19 from €80 at www.nngpromotions.com or ticket Freephone 79071766.

The concert is supported by the Maltese Tourism Authority and the government, Bank of Valletta, Go Mobile, Allied Newspapers, Gasan Mamo Insurance and Malta Airport Foundation.
