Summer is fast approaching and during this time of year a number of outdoor activities are organised around the islands of Malta and Gozo.

This year, St Joseph Band Club in Għaxaq joined forces with Ta’ Mena Estate of Gozo to present the Maltese Food & Wine Festival, being held tomorrow at St Rocco Square, only a few metres away from the parish church, with activities starting at 7pm.

Those attending will be spoilt for choice as there will be a selection of eight different wines to choose from.

The festival will also feature a competition for wine producers and the wines competing will be judged by a team of professional judges.

In their quest to provide a unique experience for olive oil and wine lovers, the organisers are presenting a number of olive oil and wine tasting sessions for those interested to learn more about these local traditions.

A number of local performers will showcase their talent during the night. Apart from groups performing local folklore acts, the band Virtuosi and the Xarulu acoustic duo will entertain the crowds during the night.

This event will be held just one week before the village celebrates its feast.
