Gzira United will have an as-yet-unnamed foreigner with Maltese Premier League experience as their head coach next year, the club has announced.

Darren Abdilla, who led the team to promotion to the Premier League for the first time in 34 years this season, will remain at the club as a member of the technical team. He has signed a three-year-contract.

Sources have suggested that Branko Nisevic, formerly of Hibernians, is tipped to get the head coaching job. The club said it would be making an announcement in the coming days.
