It's safe to say Labour Party whip Godfrey Farrugia is no fan of Italian shipyard company Palumbo.

Dr Farrugia posted three photos of an invitation the company had sent him to attend its 6th anniversary celebration. The invitation and letter were ripped up.

"Out of respect to residents of Cottonera...and nearby....I've sent the invitation back," he wrote on Facebook

Palumbo took over Malta Shipyards in June 2010 but has had multiple run-ins with residents, with complaints of cars being damaged by specks of paint and others resorting to court action over complaints of incessant noise. Last February, a court acquitted the company of noise allegations, finding that the source of the noise could not be proven.
