An honest policy is something everyone would benefit from. This was wisely stated by Simon Busuttil when addressing the last PN general council.

Busuttil is offering his commitment to lead this country according to a policy based on honesty and political correctness.

He is consistently presenting to the people a ray of hope inthe face of the extent of corruption never experienced before and which is negatively affect-ing particularly the most vulnerable people.

The massive corruption around us tends to make people lose confidence in politics and politicians. Politics in itself is not dirty. It is corruption that puts politics in this perspective. As Busuttil says, we have to believe in the prevalence of what is right and decent.

However, in politics this has to be strongly enhanced equally by the will and participation of the people. In an article ‘Good Catholics do meddle’ carried in The Sunday Times of Malta (May 15), Fr Joe Borg quoted Pope Francis as saying: “One must get involved in politics even if it may be ‘dirty’, frustrating and fraught with failure. A good Catholic meddles in politics giving the best of himself.”

Therefore, recognising, supporting and finally voting for honest politicians while doing our duty is beneficial not only for ourselves but for the common good. With perseverance and the help of God this country will once again overcome.

In the 1980s, this country – fighting to restore democracy and to eliminate violence – had already tasted the result of support for exceptional quality leadership based on this belief and on values coupled with faith as evidenced by the success of Eddie Fenech Adami in the interest of all.

It is today Busuttil’s challenging role to restore confidence in clear politics with the ever-increasing support of the people for normality and a better quality of life.
