The Buġibba promenade, right from the upper part near the water polo pitch up to Qawra point, is in total shambles. It seems Transport Malta, the Malta Tourism Authority and the local council do not even bother to ensure that, at least, the urgent repairs required are done, let alone resurfacing this stretch of the promenade which is in dire need of action.

In my opinion, this part of the island is the second most popular tourist resort and, yet, the infrastructure is in a total disaster.

Next to the HSBC Bank branch (to name just one of many), a hole in the road, measuring 31cm below normal street level (see photo), which has been deteriorating for several months, is causing traffic to slow down besides being an inconvenience to pedestrians being next to a zebra crossing. It is the result of a ‘couldn’t care less attitude’ by the authorities mentioned above.

Unfortunately, my personal appeals fall on deaf ears.
