Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham says action needs to be taken against Hibernian supporters after he was forced to flee crowd trouble at the end of the Scottish Cup final.

The Ibrox stopper was among several Gers players targeted when thousands of Hibs fans flooded onto the Hampden pitch following Hibs’ 3-2 triumph.

Foderingham took to Twitter yesterday to share his thoughts.

He posted: “Still getting over the disappointment of Saturday!

“As for the disgraceful scenes after the game I for one think action must be taken! No player should have to evade attack on the pitch.”

Camera footage captured the Englishman being shoved as fans swarmed around him.

Leeds United look to Rovers boss Clarke

Leeds United have made a formal approach to Bristol Rovers to speak with their manager Darrell Clarke, reports said yesterday.

Current Leeds boss Steve Evans is still waiting to hear if he will be handed a new contract after steering the club to a 13th-place finish in the Champion-ship, but it appears owner Massimo Cellino is already looking for the Scot’s replacement.

PA Sport reported that Clarke was on Leeds’ radar, but whether the 38-year-old would want to leave the club he has steered to back-to-back promotions to work under the controversial Italian is another matter.

Lucescu takes over as Zenit SP coach

Former Shakhtar Donetsk manager Mircea Lucescu has taken over as the head coach of Zenit St Petersburg.

The 70-year-old Romanian, who spent 12 years in charge of Shakhtar, has signed a two-year contract with Zenit, with an option for a further year.

Lucescu takes over from Andre Villas-Boas, who coached the team from March 2014. The Portuguese decided to leave the club from Russia’s second city after his contract expired.

Zenit finished the 2015-16 season third in the league standings.

Lucescu has previously coached the Romanian national team, Inter and Turkish clubs Galatasaray and Besiktas.

Ayestaran stays

Pako Ayestaran has been appointed Valencia coach until 2018.

The 53-year-old Spaniard took over the first team in March until the end of the season after former England international Gary Neville was sacked four months into the job.

Ayestaran guided Valencia to 12th place in the league standings after a relegation scare, winning three of his eight games in charge.

Ayestaran previously managed Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv, guiding them to the Premier League title in 2015.

Montolivo extends Milan contract

Milan have extended the contracts of captain Riccardo Montolivo and defenders Luca Antonelli and Davide Cala-bria until 2019.

Midfielder Montolivo, who made 30 appearances in Serie A last season, joined Milan in 2012 after six years at Fiorentina.

The 31-year-old Italy international was named in the squad for next month’s European Championship despite doubts over his fitness.

Antonelli, who rejoined Milan from Genoa in 2015, was rewarded with a new contract after earning a regular place in the starting line-up.

Calabria, 19, made his debut last season and played six Serie A games for Milan who finished seventh in the table.

FIFA fires deputy secretary Kattner

Scandal-plagued FIFA has fired its deputy secretary general, Markus Kattner.

A statement said that an internal investigation “uncovered breaches of his fiduciary responsibilities in connection with his employment contract.”

Kattner has not been charged with a crime.

He stepped in as FIFA’s acting secretary general from September until earlier this month to replace Jerome Valcke, who was himself dismissed from the post and later banned by the ethics committee for 12 years.

Striker Sandro to leave Barcelona

Barcelona striker Sandro Ramirez is set to leave the club, the La Liga champions’ technical director Robert Fernandez said.

Barca have not exercised the option to offer Sandro a new contract in order to allow the 20-year-old forward to join another club on a free transfer.

Sandro made 24 appearances this season to help Barcelona win the league and Cup double.

“Last summer Sandro had an offer to leave,” Fernandez said.

“We evaluated at that time the situation we had as we could not sign players and he made an effort to stay with us.”

Barca’s transfer ban, imposed by FIFA for breaking rules regarding the signing of underage players, ended this year.
